It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Yes, that is right, it really is the most wonderful time of the year. Starbucks has their Christmas specials and holiday cups, Valu-Mart has advent calendars, Masonville Mall is getting ready for Santa, and here in London we are enjoying some unnaturally warm and sunny days for November.

BUT...let's not forget what is coming up even before Christmas...yes that's right, tis the season for Kappa Alpha Theta's annual philanthropy event, Airbands!

I know, I can hardly contain my excitement.

Who doesn't want to watch the frats of UWO duke it out on the dance floor? Who knows what to expect- maybe some MJ? I can only hope for a sequence similar to what we tune into Glee for.

Here are all the vital details to make sure YOU can come out and support this awesome cause:

All the proceeds of Airbands go to Merrymount Children's Centre, a crisis centre for children here in London, Ontario. It is an amazing facility that really helps out families in their time of need. I urge you to check out their website for full information on their programs and to read some of the stories of lives that have been changed thanks to Merrymount and their staff.

So come out and support, its a great cause, and will undoubtedly be a night full of entertainment.

Plus, after Sigma Chi ended Lambda Chi Alpha's long-running domination of Airbands, who know what they will bring to the table this year! And with our brother fraternity, FIJI in the mix this year, you know they will leave their mark on Airbands. This will be a night you won't want to miss.

Other Exciting Theta News!

What could be more exciting than our amazing new members? Well, nothing...but we have a few things that come close.

First off, a HUGE congratulations to the ladies of Theta for achieving the highest academic averages of the sororities on campus! "Beauties and brains....", right Theta girl?

Secondly, after a great round of Formal Recruitment, another big shout out to Theta for coming in first for recruitment!

Fun Fact!

So, as I was checking up on Kappa Alpha Theta on Wikipedia, searching for something interesting to post about since it is summer, I came across something I hadn't seen before...

Did you know that the chocolate bar Kit Kat is an acronym for Keep In Touch Kappa Alpha Theta?

Now, this could just be a coincidence, and there is no citation for me to check up on, but really, who cares? Either way, it works for me. 

So keep that in mind, Gamma Epsilon, as it has now been a month of our summer vacation, and there are still a few more to go until we have reunited. 

Keep in touch and let each other know how the summer is going! Can't wait to see everyone back in September :)

Another Year Over...

...and where has the time gone?

Congratulations on finishing up exams, Thetas! After a long exam period, with the beautiful sunshine teasing us as we study for hours on end, we are free! For summer, at least. Another great year for Gamma Epsilon has come to a close, and I already can't wait for September to reunite with everyone.

Have a safe and enjoyable summer, and savour the freedom that comes with it! Gamma Epsilon has worked hard for it. For those of you still in London- have fun without the schoolwork to stop you, for the lovely ladies who have returned home- gobble up the home cooked meals and enjoy your own beds, and for anyone traveling- have safe trips and come back with plenty of photos!
